Equipment

It is important to have both the right equipment and expertise to make good images. Sometimes folks have a family member who says "I can take your wedding photos" and are left with images that leave a lot to be desired. Point and shoot cameras almost always fall short, regardless of the image sensor's resolution. Even if someone shoots with a digital SLR, they may not have the appropriate lenses or lighting equipment for the wide variety of challenging shooting conditions at a wedding. Most importantly, you must know that your photographer has the right experience to capture your wedding memories. I get every shot - every time.

I have invested in high quality Nikon digital SLR cameras, large aperture professional lenses and the right lighting equipment to make great images in all lighting conditions.

16.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor
I use two of these camera bodies at your event with a variety of lenses.

Nikon D5000 camera body

This camera has a great tilt and swivel screen for taking pictures from fun perspectives.

Unbelievably great pictures in even the lowest light conditions.
I use this lens to create beautiful tight portraits.

AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II lens

This is a versatile lens that I mostly use for outdoor reception shots.
Also serves as a backup lens.

Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens

Standard zoom lens often mounted on the third body during the ceremony for remote shots.
I use a radio remote system to photograph the bride walking down the aisle and other moments from different perspectives.

Tokina 100mm f/2.8 Macro AT-X Pro lens

Incredible macro lens for extreme closeup work. Want a high resolution image of the engraving inside a wedding ring? No problem.

Nikon AF-S VR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G IF ED lens

Incredible telephoto lens for outdoor use.
Great for tight shots during your outdoor ceremony or reception.

Nikon SB-700 and Nikon SB-600 flashes

Excellent flashes for on-the-go shots requiring additional light.

Two Alien Bees B1600 Studio Lights with umbrellas and stands

Powerful, versatile strobes for indoor work - particularly for your church portraits and at your reception.

I also use the ThinkTank Pro Speed belt with two SpiderPro Holsters, a Think Tank Speed Changer and a Think Tank Large Lens Drop In. I carry my gear in a Pelican 1514 case and a Think Tank UrbanDisguise 60 V2.0 bag. My tripod is a Manfrotto 3001BPRO with a Manfrotto Midi Ball Head with RC2. On-camera accessories include a Nikon MB-D11 grip, a Custom Brackets Junior bracket, a Nikon SC-29 TTL flash cord, and a Gary Fong Lightsphere Collapsible diffuser. I also use Phottix Stratos II Multi triggers and receivers for flash and remote shutter release. Other lighting and camera accessories are always on hand in case we'd like to set up a particularly interesting shot.

My lenses and camera bodies are professionally cleaned and calibrated regularly for optimum performance.
