It is important to have both the right equipment and expertise to make good images. Sometimes folks have a family member who says "I can take your wedding photos" and are left with images that leave a lot to be desired. Point and shoot cameras almost always fall short, regardless of the image sensor's resolution. Even if someone shoots with a digital SLR, they may not have the appropriate lenses or lighting equipment for the wide variety of challenging shooting conditions at a wedding. Most importantly, you must know that your photographer has the right experience to capture your wedding memories. I get every shot - every time. I have invested in high quality Nikon digital SLR cameras, large aperture professional lenses and the right lighting equipment to make great images in all lighting conditions.
I also use the ThinkTank Pro Speed belt with two SpiderPro Holsters, a Think Tank Speed Changer and a Think Tank Large Lens Drop In. I carry my gear in a Pelican 1514 case and a Think Tank UrbanDisguise 60 V2.0 bag. My tripod is a Manfrotto 3001BPRO with a Manfrotto Midi Ball Head with RC2. On-camera accessories include a Nikon MB-D11 grip, a Custom Brackets Junior bracket, a Nikon SC-29 TTL flash cord, and a Gary Fong Lightsphere Collapsible diffuser. I also use Phottix Stratos II Multi triggers and receivers for flash and remote shutter release. Other lighting and camera accessories are always on hand in case we'd like to set up a particularly interesting shot. My lenses and camera bodies are professionally cleaned and calibrated regularly for optimum performance.
